Independent association of the banks of Ukraine (NABU) — is the largest banking association in Ukraine (united assets of NABU banks-members make up more than 96% of total assets of the banking system of Ukraine), created with the purpose of promoting the stable functioning and development of the banking market of the country and the comprehensive protection of the interests of the Ukrainian banking community.
NABU has 4 regional representative offices in Kharkiv, Odessa, Lviv and Dnipro. For each issue concerning the regulation of the banks by the state (regardless of its impact on the interests of all the banks or just a certain number of them), the banking community should have a well-considered active position. Therefore, NABU became the voice of the Ukrainian banks, which communicates to the public and state authorities the consolidated opinion of the banking community.
In close cooperation with the specialized Parliamentary Committee, the state authorities, the NBU and the banking community, NABU develops proposals and comments, for the sake of improvement of legislative documents and initiatives.
NABU is a member of the International Banking Council of the CIS and Central and Eastern Europe, established for the exchange of professional experience on an ongoing basis. In the fall of 2016, NABU for the first time organized a regular meeting of the International Banking Council in Kyiv. NABU has a wide range of Ukrainian and international partners.
Among the international organizations, NABU closely cooperates with the International Monetary Fund, the EBRD, the World Bank and the IFC International Finance Corporation, Sparkasse, the USAID, GIZ, EFSE, McKinsey & Company, Finalta, GfK, and many others.
